Another Trip + 37 Lessons
If you’ve been following me for any length of time, you may remember the past several years I’ve spent time reflecting on the previous year when my birthday rolls around. I’m thankful for God’s provision and what He continues to teach me. This life is challenging, but it’s easier knowing God is carrying me through. Here’s a little of what’s been on my heart and mind lately.
God is enough.
Breath prayers throughout my day help sustain me and keep me close to God.
There’s not a moment in which God isn’t working ahead of me to move mountains.
No wimpy prayers - bold prayers only, believing that God will do it. This has challenged my faith.
I am enough.
I do not have the power to change someone else.
Some days, it’s okay to say that you need to rest.

Tough times teach you those who are closest and love you the most; the ones you can truly count on.
Take the time to sit and watch a butterfly; it’s peaceful.
You can say no without feeling like you have to apologize.
Snacks are good for the soul; don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. (Bring on the ice cream and cake! I don’t judge if that’s breakfast.)
Stepping out of your comfort zone requires trusting that God will carry you forward.
A good dance party in your pajamas lightens your soul.
Delays are inevitable; how we respond in the midst of them shows where our focus is.
Take the photos, and then print them to remember the memories.
Write yourself notes throughout the year about how good of a job you’re doing at showing up, even when it’s hard.
Cherish time with family; you don’t know what tomorrow will bring.
Read all the different genres of books.
Go to church on Sunday, even if you don’t feel like it. God will meet you there.
Sometimes the smallest thing you share about your story will be the biggest thing God uses to turn someone’s life around for the better.
Even if everyone is telling you otherwise, don’t give up on your biggest dream; it wasn’t placed on your heart for nothing.
Sometimes all you need to do is look up.
Pray out loud with your family.
Delays are not denials; they remind you that God is working everything in His perfect timing.
Chocolate is a winner at any hour.
Chicken and waffles are a winning combination; you cannot make me believe anything different.
God sustains through every season, even when it feels like you’re alone.
A good book and a dog curled up in your lap are the perfect combination for a cozy evening.
Christmas decorations can go up anytime if they bring you joy; who cares what date the calendar reads?
Naps are not just for babies.
Fresh air can restore the soul.
Fresh flowers are a simple reminder of the joy God plants in our hearts.
Learn from those who go before you.
Patience is a virtue, and you can learn it no matter how hard it is.
Being honest when life is hard shows strength.
I’m thankful for all that God continues to teach me. This is just a short list of all that I’m learning in this life. Looking forward to another year of ups and downs and watching all that God is going to do.
Proverbs 10: 28-32
The hope of the righteous is joy, but the expectation of the wicked will perish.
The way of the Lord is a stronghold for the honorable, but destruction awaits evildoers.
The righteous will never be shaken, but the wicked will not remain on the earth.
The mouth of the righteous produces wisdom, but a perverse tongue will be cut out.
The lips of the righteous know what is appropriate, but the mouth of the wicked, only what is perverse.
