To the New Foster Parents
I’m proud of you.
You are giving such a gift.
Think of all the spirits you will lift.
It seems so small.
But it’s not a journey for all.
You are choosing to extend love.
Relying on strength from above.
Helping a little one settle in.
Meeting he or she, in a time of great need.
I’m proud of you.
Not many know or understand the price you paid.
Meeting needs you didn’t know you could.
Learning more than you ever thought you would.
You take the leap knowing it’s likely temporary.
But that doesn’t hold you back.
You set aside your own wants for theirs.
What they need, you provide.
You’ve chosen to show up.
You’re nervous, excited, scared, and overwhelmed.
You are seen.
You are appreciated.
You understand the assignment.
You knew it would be hard.
The sacrifices were great.
Don’t beat yourself up.
Sometimes the journey won’t be as you thought.
You are doing the thing.
You’re changing lives.
Providing love where it is sought.
Rely on God to guide your way.
All through the night and day.
He will always give you what you need.
For He is good, indeed.
Keep changing lives.
I’m so proud of you.
Proverbs 19:21
You can make many plans,
but the Lord’s purpose will prevail.
